The National Association of Realtors (N.A.R.) has some great consumer protection tips for home buyers and sellers. It never hurts to do a little research when you are ready to purchase or sell a home.
Home Buyers:
  • Check your credit report for accuracy and completeness
  • Use the Internet wisely
  • Educate yourself on mortgages and mortgage fraud
  • hire the right real estate professional

Home Sellers:

  • Know your home's value
  • Protect yourself and your home
  • understand the purchase contract
  • hire the right real estate professional

How to Choose the right real estate professional:

  • do your research
  • get referrals from friends and relatives
  • interview at least 3 agents
  • make sure the agent you choose is a Realtor
